Welcome to the \u201cJournal of Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors\u201d (JBST). This is a unique venture and is been developed as an online portal including the \u2018Journal of Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors\u2019 along with the \u2018OncoMedia\u2019 section which will contain technical videos, PowerPoint presentations, and other academic material. Both these will combine together to form the \u2018Journal of Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors (JBST)\u2019 portal but will also hold individual identities. The idea is to develop a single portal where all information regarding Bone and Soft tissue tumors can be found and shared.\u00a0 Journal of Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors (JBST)will focus to integrate knowledge from all resources and create a common wisdom pool. The focus of the journal will be clinical, medical, and surgical aspects of orthopaedic oncology but will also extend to include Basic sciences, clinical trials, molecular biology; genetics, pathology; radiodiagnosis, interventional radiology, radiotherapy, biomechanics; biomaterials; nanotechnology; and also special prosthesis designs. This journal primarily aims to cater to clinicians, researchers and healthcare providers whose focus is on the understanding and treatment of bone and soft tissue tumors<\/p>\n

The entire format of the Journal will be one of \u2018Integration\u2019 with basic science, clinical trials, clinical research, case-based discussion, evidence-based medicine, expert opinion, Videos, keynote presentations, and web resources, all aiming together to \u2018Translate\u2019 into the betterment of care in Bone tumors. The submission format is kept very simple and practical and accepted articles will be in form of case reports, case series, original articles, technical notes, and also metanalysis and systematic review of the literature.<\/p>\n
Journal of Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors (JBST) welcomes articles that contribute to Orthopaedic knowledge from all countries. Articles are accepted only for exclusive publication in the Journal of Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors. Previously published articles, even those in peer-reviewed electronic publications, are not accepted by the Journal.\u00a0 All studies should be carried out in accordance with the World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki. Manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the \u201cUniform requirements for Manuscripts submitted to Biomedical Journal\u201d developed by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (April 2010). Violation may lead to serious action against authors as per COPE guidelines.<\/p>\n -The Editorial Board will review all submitted manuscripts initially.<\/p>\n -Manuscripts which seem to lack scientific message or content are rejected at first instance. Journal will not return unaccepted manuscripts.<\/p>\n -Manuscripts that are not formatted as per journal guidelines will be sent for correct formatting before the review process<\/p>\n -Manuscripts that get approval from the editorial board and are formatted as per guidelines, will be sent for peer review by at least two expert reviewers [this number may exceed in cases where we do not get a definitive answer by two reviews]. The review process is blinded for author, Institution, or place of origin of the manuscript. The journal wishes to publish the names of all our reviewers, however, the reviewers names will be kept blinded in terms of specific manuscripts<\/p>\n -Editorial team takes a final decision based on the comments received from the reviewers and also from the section editors<\/p>\n -The contributors are usually informed about the reviewers\u2019 comments and acceptance\/rejection within a period of 10 to 12 weeks. This period may get extended in cases where more than two opinions are needed.<\/p>\n -Articles accepted would be copy edited for grammar, punctuation, print style, and format. All articles will also be rewritten by the Editorial team and a final copy will be sent to authors for approval<\/p>\n -Page proofs will be sent to the corresponding author, which has to be returned within 4 days.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Authorship credit should be based only on substantial contributions:<\/p>\n To conception and design or acquisition of data or analysis and interpretation of data<\/p>\n Drafting the article or revising it critically for important intellectual content<\/p>\n Participation solely in the acquisition of funding or the collection of data does not justify authorship<\/p>\n General supervision of the research group is not sufficient for authorship<\/p>\n The order of naming the contributors should be based on the relative contribution of the contributor. Once submitted the order cannot be changed without the written consent of all the contributors<\/p>\n For an original article the number of contributors should not exceed six; for case reports, letter to the Editor and review articles, the number of contributors should not exceed four<\/p>\n A justification should be included if the number of contributors exceeds these limits<\/p>\n Only those who have done substantial work in a particular field can write a review article.
