Welcome to the “Journal of Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors” (JBST). This is a unique venture and is been developed as an online portal including the ‘Journal of Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors (JBST)’ along with the ‘OncoMedia’ section which will contain technical videos, power point presentations, and other academic material. Both these will combine together to form the ‘Journal of Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors (JBST)’ portal but will also hold individual identities. The idea is to develop a single portal where all information regarding Bone and Soft tissue tumors can be found and shared. Journal of Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors (JBST) will focus to integrate knowledge from all resources and create a common wisdom pool. The focus of the journal will be clinical, medical, and surgical aspects of orthopaedic oncology but will also extend to include Basic sciences, clinical trials, molecular biology; genetics, pathology; radiodiagnosis, interventional radiology, radiotherapy, biomechanics; biomaterials; nanotechnology; and also special prosthesis designs. This journal primarily aims to cater to clinicians, researchers and healthcare providers whose focus is on the understanding and treatment of bone and soft tissue tumors
Journal of Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors (JBST) will be international, open access, Double-blind peer-reviewed journal with contributions from all across the globe.
What is different about the Journal of Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors (JBST)?
- Integration of Knowledge starting from basic science to clinical studies to provide a unique structural overview of the entire scenario of bone and soft tissue tumors

The entire format of the Journal will be one of ‘Integration’ with basic science, clinical trials, clinical research, case based discussion, evidence based medicine, expert opinion, Videos, keynote presentations and web resources, all aiming together to ‘Translate’ into betterment of care in Bone tumors. The submission format is kept very simple and practical and accepted articles will be in form of case reports, case series, original articles, technical notes and also metanalysis and systematic review of literature with complications or complicated cases in focus.

Journal of Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors (JBST) is the official Journal of Indian Musculoskeletal Oncology Society and is published by the Indian Orthopaedic Research Group.
Indian Musculoskeletal Oncology Society
Musculoskeletal oncology is a relatively new specialty, both as far as orthopaedics and oncology goes. For sarcoma care to evolve, ideas to surface and multi institute or multi disciplinary collaborations to develop in the fields of basic research, patient care, biomaterials and prosthesis, there is a need for a common platform where all of us involved in the treatment of sarcomas can interact. This would also help foster training and education opportunities, promote dissemination of knowledge and aid in the development of treatment guidelines suitable for our socio cultural environment. As the field of musculoskeletal oncology continues to develop globally and in India, it is time for us to reflect on what is required for it to grow further so that we are able to offer the best care to the maximum number of patients.
The Indian Musculo Skeletal Oncology Society (IMSOS) is a step in this direction. It aims to “promote scientific, evidence based, comprehensive multidisciplinary management of bone and soft tissue sarcomas and encourage basic and clinical research.” In the words of Henry Ford “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success”.
The Indian Musculoskeletal Oncology Society 1st Annual Conference was organised on 13th and 14th March, 2015 at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.
The theme of the conference was “Cure, control or comfort – In tumors teamwork triumphs!” reflects the ethos of IMSOS of bringing together all specialties interested in sarcoma care to interact on a continuous basis and help further advances in musculoskeletal oncology. The mission of Indian Orthopaedic Research Group (IORG) is to promote orthopaedic research in India by helping individual orthopaedic surgeons and clinical departments throughout the country. The focus of the group is to:
· Help publish research studies in various international and national peer-reviewed journals
· Design and conduct research studies
· Establish academic research divisions in institutions which will initiate and sustain research projects
· Conduct high quality basic and clinical research studies through collaboration with various institutions and industries
